Level with the prominence of the thyroid cartilage, posterior to the common carotid artery, at the anterior border of the sternocleidomastoid muscle.
0.3-0.5 cun perpendicular

Contraindications and Cautions


Functions

Stomach,
Window of the sky point (use when energy is unable to rise to head region or descend to Thorax).
Sea of Qi point (REN-17, BL-10, ST-9).

Reunion with GB meridian.

Regulates rebellious ST Qi (vomiting, Hiccups)
Benefits the throat, breaks up masses and swellings (tonsillitis, thyroid swelling), clears and cools the throat, transforms mucus.
